Grayscale Bitcoin Trust now holds more than 500,000 $BTC. Yes, you read that right. Learn more about the world’s largest Bitcoin investment product.

In the last six months, Grayscale Bitcoin Trust has increased its Bitcoin holding by 50%. Trust also reported that last week its weekly inflow was $215 million (15,907 BTC) which surpassed all previous investments into the trust.

2) Galaxy Digital will also provide its crypto offering in Canada now.

Galaxy Digital, a diversified financial services firm dedicated to the digital asset, cryptocurrency, and blockchain technology industry has partnered with CI Global Asset Management, a Canadian investment company to come up with a public Bitcoin (BTC) fund in Canada. The Fund is a closed-end investment fund that seeks to provide unitholders with exposure to bitcoin through an institutional-quality fund platform. The Fund will invest directly in bitcoin with the Fund’s holdings of bitcoin priced using the Bloomberg Galaxy Bitcoin Index.

3) Former Bank of Japan executive believes the country needs a few years before it can issue CBDC.

Hiromi Yamaoka, former head of the payment and settlement systems department at the Bank of Japan is concerned about CBDC potentially triggering huge outflows from private bank deposits. He said

The fundamental question, and a very tricky one, is how to ensure private deposits and a CBDC co-exist. You don’t want money rushing out of private deposits. On the other hand, there’s no point issuing a CBDC if it isn’t used widely.

4) Blockchain-based fantasy sports have growth potential — Messari.

According to Mason Nystrom, a researcher at Messari which is a digital research firm believes that blockchain-based fantasy sports have growth potential. In his report Nystrom said

While the peak culmination of esports and cryptonetworks waits for improvements in emerging technology and 5G connectivity, blockchain-based fantasy sports are poised for consumer adoption.
