1) Chainlink Community Grant program, good news for Kenyan farmers.

Chainlink announced that a collaboration formed between Etherisc and ACRE Africa, an agricultural microinsurance provider for smallholder farmers across East Africa, has been selected for support by the Chainlink Community Grant Program. The Chainlink grant will aid their joint effort towards building a decentralized insurance protocol able to deliver sustainable, blockchain-based parametric crop insurance solutions that help protect up to 250,000 smallholder farmers in Kenya against the effects of climate change over the next three years.

2) Cynthia Lummis, senator-elect from the state of Wyoming considers “hope to bring Bitcoin into the national conversation.”

Cynthia Lummis, senator-elect from the state of Wyoming is a Bitcoin holder since 2013 and she wants to put crypto at the forefront of the US political debate. In an interview for a television show named “Good Morning America,” she said

I do hope to bring bitcoin into the national conversation. I’m a former state treasurer, and I invested our state’s permanent funds. So I was always looking for a good store of value, and bitcoin fits that bill. Our own currency inflates; bitcoin does not. 21 million bitcoin will be mined, and that’s it. It’s a finite supply, so I have confidence that this is going to be an important player in stores of value for a long time to come.

3) New York airport employees will test the blockchain-based coronavirus cleanliness app.

Albany Airport will deploy the “Wellness Trace App” to track the cleanliness of surfaces and objects inside the airport. Initially, airport employees will be testing the app for the next 3 months. The app developed by General Electric Co. (GE) in partnership with TE-FOOD and Eurofins provides the users with information about the cleanliness of surfaces prior to touching them in real-time. This app works by scanning QR code stickers and till now 45 such stickers have been put up in areas and on objects around the airport.

4) Blockchain Game Alliance’s Game Demo Day, an opportunity for developers.

BGA aims to spread awareness about blockchain technologies and encourage adoption by highlighting its potential to foster new ways to create, publish, play, and build strong communities around games. 5) In 2020, there has been a 60% decrease in crypto crimes.

In 2019, cryptocurrency-related crime added up to $4.5 billion but according to CipherTrace, blockchain forensics company for 2020 till now the amount is $1.8 billion which 60% less than last year. The main reasons for this decrease in crime rates have happened due to an increase in security & transparency by cryptocurrency-related companies. As per the reports from various sources, it has been found that new users entering into cryptocurrency are scammed more as compared to old users.
